Kooza by Cirque Du Soleil
under the big top at Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver brings together an
amazing visual performance for adults and children. Kooza provides lots of
“clowning around” and acrobatics. In the
opening scene, we are greeted by an odd yet innocent boy flying his kite
getting caught up in the wonder of the circus.
The story begins with
various circus acts produces “dreams” that awaken the boy to the excitement of
circus. The costumes are spectacular. The colours are bright that reach from
the tips of the performer’s hair to the soles of their shoes, and at times it’s
difficult to see the difference between makeup, costume and fantasy.
The opening of the second
act is particularly exciting as the two performers dance in wheels of death,
leaping and summersaulting above our heads. This is by far the most enjoyable
part of the show. As well as the Contortion and the High-Wire performances, however, all acts were amazing.
We highly recommend Kooza
for adults and children 10 years and older and matinees for children 5 years
and older.
