Holiday Family Events in Whistler

If you’re looking to visit the winter Wonderland of Whistler this winter, here is a list of must-do activities for you and your family during holiday seasons.

The Polar Express – Squamish – weekends in late November and December, 2015
Be sure to stop by Squamish’s West Coast Railway Heritage Park (39645 Government Road, Squamish BC) on your way up to Whistler for a ride on the Polar Express! Based on the hit movie about love, acceptance and holiday spirit, this fun event is and adventure that the whole family can enjoy – and don’t forget to wear your jammies!

Purchase your tickets ahead of time for this exciting train ride through the Squamish valley, complete with hot chocolate, goodies, songs and special visits from some holiday characters. The train will take you straight to the “North Pole” where you will be able to decorate a gingerbread cookie, write a letter to Santa himself, visit the Elf Workshop, and meet Santa!

Whistler’s Bizarre Bazar – November 28-29, 2015
Support local businesses and youth entrepreneurs in Whistler at the Bizarre Bazar. On November 28 and 29, you can browse through the most unique and treasured hand-made art and crafts. Featuring over 100 artisans from the Whistler, Vancouver and beyond, this holiday craft fair allows you to choose from various foods, housewares, jewelry, art and more. You’ll also support Bratz Biz, which promote child and youth craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit.

Dress Like Santa Day – December 19, 2015
Bring the whole family to this Santa extravaganza! Be one of the first 100 people to the base of Whistler Mountain on December 19th, and if you are wearing a full-on Santa or Mrs. Claus costume (red suit, black belt and hat), you will get a free lift ticket! It’s sp much fun to see all the red suits skiing down the mountain during this fun and whimsical event, which really brings a spirit of the holidays to the mountain!

The Whistler Holiday Experience – December 19 - January 3, 2015
From December 19, 2015 - January 3, 2016, kids and parents alike can enjoy a fantastic day of FREE family indoor entertainment at the Whistler Conference Centre. Enjoy activities like mini-golf, a bouncy castle, crafts and more. Parents can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a hot chocolate while the kids play. These events runs daily but check the conference centre website for more info on New Year’s celebration closures.

Skate with Santa at the Plaza – December 20, 2015
Get active with one of the most timeless and fun holiday activities – ice skating! Join family, friends and Santa himself on Sunday December 20, 2015 at the Whistler Olympic Plaza. This is a free family skate from 3pm-5pm, complete with hot chocolate, cookies and some holiday crafts. Skate rentals are available for $5 if you don’t have your own.
