For most of us, holidays are a time of celebration, house cleaning and getting organized for the new year. As most households with young children there is no end to the amount of artwork, assignments and school projects that accumulates from the start of the school year to winter break. So in preparation for the New Year to begin, I spent time getting all the older masterpieces and school projects organized so we can start fresh in 2016.
I had the opportunity to review the Epson Perfection V550 Photo Scanner which offers the perfect solution for scanning, preserving and sharing my children’s masterpieces. It’s light-weight and easy-to-install with detailed instructions. A neat feature is that it allows for quick upload of photos and artwork directly to Facebook for family and friends to see.
The scanner bed is large enough for letter-sized paper, so it’s also fantastic for scanning my son’s artwork, producing a really nice quality digital copy. And, if we decide to create a poster-sized version, the V550 scans at a high resolution (6400 x 9600 dpi) to enlarge up to 17” x 22.” perfect for creating custom artwork for my son's bedroom or a gift for the grandparents.
The V550 uses LED technology, which is great for several reasons. For one, it makes for faster warm-up times, so you can start scanning sooner, which is important for busy parents. In addition, it is also good for the environment with greater energy efficiency and no mercury.
With so much of my children’s artwork to keep I can now repurpose their masterpieces to create personalized holiday gift tags, birthday cards or even a hard-cover art book for them to look at for years to come without the clutter of boxes of their past art projects taking up space.
Add the Epson Perfection V550 Photo Scanner to your holiday list. It is available at Staples, Best Buy and Epson.ca ($199.99).
